After Restoration
All four edges needed to be either cropped in or cloned outward to restore the print to a rectangular layout. Once the edges were cleaned up several adjustment layers were added to bring back the original contrast and sepia tone color. In this case the original print had a very pronounced film grain which was most noticeable in the skin on the woman's face. By adding a few soft blur adjustment layers I was able to hide some of the grain and give her skin a slightly smoother appearance. Once the restoration process was completed the photograph was reprinted at 8"x10" (slightly larger than the original 5"x7").
The total cost for this restoration including the reprint was $50.00
